Treatment of Oral Diseases

It should be obvious why you should treat possible oral health problems. Anything that doesn't feel or look right is a sign that something may be amiss and that you aren't in a good state. Surprisingly though, a lot of people take things for granted. What they may not know is that greater problems can emerge from seemingly smaller ones.

Periodontal disease is a gum disease that primarily affects older people. It starts as gingivitis and if left untreated can advance to full periodontitis. Treatment of periodontal disease is unpleasant, expensive and quite serious. But there is now growing evidence that taking daily Omega 3 essential fatty acid supplements can help in both the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease.

There are still a few things that you can do to prevent this disease from afflicting you, and these are really very easy things to do and you should be doing every single day as a matter of fact. Foremost of which is regular brushing of your teeth. This is the most basic level of dental and oral hygiene that you should follow. Brush your teeth at least twice a day or preferably after every meal.

Gum infections can also be a painful disease that your dentist should be quick to spot. An infection in your gums can cause bone loss. This dangerous infection can spread throughout your entire mouth if it is not spotted quickly. Thankfully, these types of infections can be treated and may not cause significant damage if treatment begins quickly. It is important for your dentist to look for signs of infection.

Leg cramps during exercise might be caused by dehydration. It is important to drink a lot of fluid during exercise. Leg cramps occur when the muscle suddenly and forcefully contracts. The most common muscles to contract in this manner are muscles that cross two joints. Leg cramps during walking might be an indication of heart disease caused by arteries in your leg being clogged up by cholesterol in result of not enough oxygen being delivered to the cells in your leg.

In the patients of osteoarthritis a special kind of protein called cytokines is present in high concentration. This is the most leading cause of deterioration of cartilage in joints. Cytokines control an enzyme called protease that has inflammation creating properties. This enzyme cause breakdown of proteins presents in joints and hence cause inflammation.

It is a sexually transmitted disease affecting the genitals and anal areas of both men and women. This form of herpes - usually HSV-2 - is far less common than the oral form of the virus, HSV-1, but the progression of the sores is generally the same, as is the means of transmission. The skin to skin contact of a person who is currently suffering from an outbreak to another person during sexual intercourse is the main cause for transmitting the disease.

This is the infection and inflammation around the gum region, the linking fiber which surrounds and provides support to teeth and also the jaw bone. These are continually rising as the major oral problem which affects people of all ages and even results in loss of tooth. This kind of dental disease is primarily due to the formation of bacterial plaque.

We are not suggesting not to use antibiotics. In fact, they should be used as long as they are prescribed for the right reason. For example, antibiotic should be used on patients with moderate to severe acne. Two of antibiotic that we feel are safe and effective are doxycycline and minocycline. They are easily absorbed form of tetracycline which has been used for decades to reduce acne inflammation.

Some honeys are apparently no better for your teeth than refined sugar, but at the other end of the spectrum, there are varieties which are outstanding for their antimicrobial properties. It appears that the majority of research on honey's antimicrobial properties and effectiveness in treating gum disease come out of New Zealand in the past dozen years.
